Job summary

Cooper University Health Care is seeking a Critical Care Tech to support patients under the direction of an RN. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, performing phlebotomy and EKGs, and ensuring high standards of safety and quality in patient care.

The position requires phlebotomy/EKG training or completion within 90 days, BLS certification, and active enrollment in nursing school. Shift pattern includes 7 AM to 7 PM with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing course with clinical.
• Active enrollment in nursing school required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility).
• Perform phlebotomy and EKGs; take and document vital signs and point-of-care testing.
• Communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patients and families on care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and orientation of new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit competencies by due date.
• Adhere to safety protocols to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors and coworkers.
