Job summary

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of patient care experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and active PCT certification.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• CPCT-A certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and support the plan of care.
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and Foley catheter care.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately, maintaining safety.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives, performance improvement activities, and assist in orienting new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the required due date.
• Consistently adhere to safety protocols and quality standards to ensure a safe environment and high-quality patient care.
• Effective communication with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
• Capacity to identify and communicate changes in patient status.
