Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ is seeking a part-time Critical Care Technician to support patients’ daily living activities under the direction of an RN. You will perform technical duties such as phlebotomy, vital signs, EKGs, and Foley care, and communicate changes in patient status to the RN.

Qualifications

• High School/GED is required.
• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and an active PCT certification are required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification is required.
• CPT, CPCT-A, ACMA certifications are acceptable alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, transport) and follow standard precautions.
• Perform technical duties as directed by RN (phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, Foley catheter care) and document appropriately.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and in orientation of new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the due date.
