Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Colorado Springs is seeking a Critical Care Tech to support RNs and physicians in an acute care setting at Penrose - St. Francis Health Services.

You will provide direct and indirect patient care, assist with daily tasks, document thoroughly, and communicate with the healthcare team to meet patient needs. Required: High School Diploma or GED and EMT/IV therapy or Paramedic certification; preferred: one year healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Emergency Medical Technician Certificate and IV Therapy Certificate or EMTA/EMTI/Paramedic Certificate are required.
• Preferred: One year healthcare experience (prehospital, ED and/or patient care).

Responsibilities

• Communicates with RN and Physician regarding patient/family observations and concerns.
• Performs technical tasks (IV insertion, splinting, wound care) as directed by RN/physician.
• Documents all tasks and observations accurately in the patient record.
• Collaborates with the care team to ensure patient safety and effective plan of care.
