Job summary

Valley Health is seeking a Registered Nurse per diem for the Third Shift in the Critical Care Step Down unit. The RN PD will perform nursing care using the nursing process, coordinate patient teaching, and support quality safety initiatives on the unit.

Requirements include an RN license (Virginia eligibility or multi-state), 2 years RN experience, and BLS certification. BSN preferred; per diem benefits apply. The department emphasizes teamwork and professional practice.

Qualifications

• Two years of RN experience required.
• BLS certification required; AHA Healthcare Provider.
• Virginia RN licensure or eligibility per Compact/National licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Maintain professional standards, effective communication, teamwork and leadership.
• Direct and facilitate patient teaching and safety initiatives.
• Complete required competencies, unit initiatives and portfolio submissions.
• Coordinate with health team members to ensure quality patient care.
