Job summary

The Staff Pad is partnering with a leading healthcare system in Wausau, WI to hire Registered Nurses for a high-acuity Critical Care (ICU) / Step-Down unit. This role offers exposure to advanced cardiac and critical care pathways in a structured, team-driven environment.

You’ll provide care for complex patients, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and participate in a growing cardiac-focused tower with opportunities for advancement into Charge RN and specialty roles.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• RN license (WI or compact eligible; Trauma Nursing Core Course).
• BLS required (or obtained within 90 days of hire).
• ACLS, PALS or NRP preferred depending on department.
• Open to new grads and experienced nurses.
• 3+ years RN experience in a comparable setting.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for high-acuity patients (drips, chest tubes, central lines).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team in fast-paced setting.
• Manage frequent admissions, discharges, transfers.
• Deliver patient-centered care with a focus on safety and outcomes.

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing

Bachelor’s degree preferred

RN license (WI or compact)

Trauma Nursing Core Course

BLS certification

ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred
