Qualifications

• Associate Degree of Nursing required.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• TX RN license required upon hire.
• CPR within 14 days.
• ACLS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care in a cost-effective, quality-driven, patient-focused manner.
• Performs ongoing assessment, formulates nursing diagnoses and goals, plans interventions, and evaluates outcomes.
• Documents in patient and unit records per health system standards to meet legal and quality requirements.
• Provides teaching to patients and families including pain management, nutrition, skin integrity, fall prevention, diabetes, disease process, smoking cessation, and discharge instructions.
• Demonstrates commitment to patient, hospital, community, and nursing values through cost containment, confidentiality, ethical decisions, and patient safety.
• Collaborates with Outcomes managers and department; engages in research activities and identifies opportunities.
