Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care required; RRT certification preferred.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the applicable state.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in oxygen delivery and related equipment to achieve adequate oxygenation.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and explains purpose and effects.
• Performs diagnostic procedures as outlined in policy.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains ventilators (mechanical and non-invasive).
• Evaluates current therapies and makes care recommendations.
• Documents therapy results and communicates with the healthcare team.
• Initiates and modifies respiratory care techniques in emergencies.
• Performs blood sampling analysis and interprets results.
• Works independently across patient care areas.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements.
• Completes proficiency evaluation of respiratory care equipment.
• Proficient with EMR interface with the Respiratory Care Department.
