Job summary

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC and state license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced certifications per facility/department.
• 2 years critical care experience for ED setting; new grads eligible with RRT credentials.
• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment for each therapy.
• Administers procedures, understands benefits and risks, and documents results.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators as needed.
• Evaluates therapies and makes recommendations for care plans.
• Documents therapy results and communicates with healthcare team.
• Performs respiratory care in emergencies and conducts blood gas analysis.
• Works independently across patient care areas and uses EMR effectively.
• Follows safety guidelines and regulatory requirements; completes proficiency evaluations.
