Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Care Department in Lincolnton, NC. The role provides specialized therapy, monitors ventilator support, and collaborates with the care team to achieve optimal patient oxygenation.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor’s preferred) and NBRC‑certified RRT licensure, with strong organizational and communication skills to support bedside care and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment; conducts prescribed therapies.
• Administers therapeutic procedures; performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical and non‑invasive ventilation; aware of critical care duties.
• Evaluates therapies with sound judgment and makes care plan recommendations.
• Documents therapy results per hospital/regulatory requirements; communicates with care team.
• Initiates and adjusts respiratory care techniques in emergencies; conducts blood sampling analysis.
• Works independently in patient care areas; proficient with EMR interfaces in Respiratory Care.
• Follows safety guidelines; completes regulatory requirements; conducts annual equipment proficiency.
