Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Associate's degree or higher in Respiratory Care; RRT or equivalent required.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in North Carolina.
• BLS certification required per policy.
• 2 years critical care experience preferred for certain ED/CCU.

Responsibilities

• Provides respiratory care per physician orders and approved protocols.
• Consults physicians on therapy effectiveness and makes recommendations.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators.
• Evaluates current therapies and reframes plans of care.
• Documents therapy and results; communicates with healthcare team.
• Performs blood sampling analysis and interprets results.
• Proficient with EMR and departmental interoperability.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
