Job summary

UTMB Health in Webster, TX seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal through geriatric patients under physician orders and established protocols.

The role includes ventilator management, airway care, patient rounds, education of patients and families, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Licensure as an RRT in TX, NBRC credential, BLS/ACLS required; PALS/NRP may be required by unit.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program.
• No minimum experience required.
• Credentialed as an RRT by the NBRC and licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Texas Medical Board; BLS and ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assess the respiratory care needs of patients.
• Administer and monitor mechanical ventilation and manage airways.
• Transport patients within UTMB and participate in rounds.
• Document care in patient records and department logs.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

Education

Associate degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program.
