Job summary

Kindred Hospital Santa Ana is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to deliver safe, competent respiratory care per physician orders. You will monitor ventilation, assess patients, interpret ABG results, and participate in multidisciplinary rounds to optimize therapy.

Responsibilities include instrument handling, documentation, teaching patients and staff, and supporting weaning protocols. A current RT license and BLS/ACLS are required, with at least 1 year of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Clear interpersonal communication with patients, families and healthcare teams.
• Understanding lifespan development for adult and geriatric patients.
• Able to work cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Fluent English in speaking and writing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care procedures per policy and physician orders.
• Document procedures accurately and maintain care plans.
• Verify physician orders and manage respiratory equipment.
• Perform airway management, ventilation support, and suctioning.
• Assist with bronchoscopy procedures and decannulation assessments.
• Lead weaning from ventilation and participate in rounds and education.
