Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA accredited program in respiratory care with an AAS degree or higher.
• Registry eligible required.
• RCP license in MD and/or DC required.
• CRT required; RRT preferred.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS within 1 year where required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies, procedures, quality and safety standards.
• Assesses patient needs across domains and documents educational needs.
• Performs respiratory therapy treatments and services (oxygen, humidity, ventilation, bronchial hygiene, spirometry, EKG, blood gas).
• Uses therapeutic communication and problem solving in patient care.
• Reviews electronic medical records and physician orders during shifts.
• Responds to CPR and maintains airway and ventilation as needed.
• Improves workflow and interdepartmental processes where appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned and complies with policies.
