Job summary

MedStar Health in Maryland is seeking an experienced Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide respiratory care across patient populations following physician orders, standards, and protocols.

The role involves operating and monitoring equipment ( ventilators, EKG, blood gas analysis ), assessing patients, collaborating with the care team, and supporting safe, high-quality care; licensing and ACLS/NRP/CPR certifications are required within stipulated timelines.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in respiratory care required.
• Registry eligible with acute care experience preferred.
• RCP license in Maryland and/or DC required.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications required within 1 year where required.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care per physician orders and standards.
• Assess physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of patients.
• Operate and monitor respiratory equipment and therapies (oxygen, humidification, ventilators, bronchial hygiene, spirometry).
• Respond to CPR and airway management as needed.
• Collaborate to improve workflow and interdepartmental processes.
