Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care across patient populations in a Maryland hospital setting. Duties include delivering therapies, monitoring equipment, reviewing orders, and participating in CPR when needed.

Requirements include an AMA-accredited respiratory care program (AAS or higher) and registry eligibility; RCP and CRT licenses are required with RRT preferred. ACLS/NRP/PALS within 1 year are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in AMA-accredited respiratory care program required.
• Bachelor's degree in related healthcare field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy treatments and services (oxygen, humidification, ventilation, bronchial hygiene, spirometry).
• Review EMRs and physician orders during shifts.
• Respond to CPR and manage airway and ventilation as needed.
• Monitor equipment operations and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Follow department policies and participate in quality improvements.
