A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Registered Nurse to assume principal responsibility for patient care in Alabama. The role involves assessment, planning, and evaluation of nursing care while supervising a team. Candidates must hold an Associate's degree, possess necessary certifications, and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
The registered nurse assumes principal responsibility for the total care of assigned clients in the respective unit. This nurse is responsible for assessment, reassessment, establishment of nursing diagnoses, formulation of the written plan of care, implementation, and evaluation of care. The nurse initiates health care training and education to the client and/or family as required while supporting and fostering the goals of Andalusia Health and the Department of Nursing. The registered nurse demonstrates awareness of ongoing needs of the unit and provides leadership and direction to other team members to maintain optimal standards of nursing care. This position is accountable for supervising other licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel in the assigned units. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays, are required to ensure continuity of care and appropriate nursing coverage for patients of Andalusia Health across all units. The nurse is responsible for providing care to all patient populations, considering age-specific needs and diagnoses.
Minimum Education: Associate's degree required.
Required Skills: Ability to function effectively in stressful situations; verbal communication skills to present information related to nursing theory and practice; responsibility and accountability to provide, delegate, and coordinate nursing care; leadership qualities; cognitive and practical ability to deliver age-appropriate nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
Licenses: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama.
Additional requirements include BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire and ACLS certification within 6 months of employment.
