Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• BLS certification.
• Active RN license with multi-state compact and/or state license to practice where care is provided.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Telehealth licensing may apply.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions and adjusts care plans with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and patient advocacy.
• Continuously evaluates outcomes and takes action as needed.
• May administer medications and therapies according to clinical protocols.
• Promotes effective communication, feedback, and delegation.
• Pursues professional development and maintains certifications.
• Follows ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making, respects interdisciplinary roles.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and assistive personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units to meet patient care needs.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care across life span.
