Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Dispatcher–LACP Lima Dispatch to handle ground and air critical services, assessing requests, and dispatching units via the CAD system. The role requires strong communication and the ability to work under pressure within a high-stress EMS environment.

Education includes a high school diploma or GED with preferred Associate’s degree. Certifications such as FEMA ICS 100/200, BLS, EMD, IAMTCS, and EMT/Paramedic are encouraged and may be required within stated

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associate’s degree is preferred.
• FEMA ICS 100/200 certifications required within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• EMD certification required within 12 months of employment.
• IAMTCS Flight Communicator certification preferred, but required within 12 months of employment.
• EMT or Paramedic certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives requests for ground and/or air critical services via telephone/radio and determines appropriate response.
• Enters information into the Computer-Aided Dispatch System and dispatches the appropriate unit(s).
• Coordinates placement of patients at hospitals.
• Performs vehicle-tracking functions during transport.
• Maintains professional radio/phone communication with staff, requesting agencies, and public safety personnel.
• Triages transport requests and enters required information into CAD system.
• Maintains records and billing paperwork for patient transport and operations.
