Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Omaha, NE is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for Critical Care. The role requires 36 hours weekly with three 12-hour shifts, weekend and holiday rotation, and includes patient care, safety, and documentation duties in a fast-paced unit.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, transfers, vital signs, and maintaining a clean, safe environment while supporting the care team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of CNA program or equivalent preferred.
• 75-hour state-approved CNA course or 6 months CNA experience required.
• Students 16+ may apply if requirements are met.
• Customer service, cleaning, or patient-related experience preferred.
• 1–3 months on-the-job experience to learn hospital procedures preferred.
• Experience in patient care settings (hospital, clinic, or nursing home) preferred.
• Direct patient contact experience preferred.
• Orientation and on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate nursing assistance and patient care.
• Communicate with patients, families, and health care team.
• Document patient data accurately in Cerner/records.
• Assist with ADLs, transfers, vital signs, and comfort.
• Help maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
• Respond to call lights and patient needs promptly.
• Support daily unit operations and team coverage.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for exams and procedures.
• Support inventory and stock in patient care areas.
• Perform duties as delegated by nursing staff.
