Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a pharmacist to join the department of pharmacy. This full-time role includes shift options 0600-1600 or 0900-1900, Monday–Friday, with every 4th weekend on call.

PGY2 in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care preferred, or PGY1 with 3 years in EM. Responsibilities include overseeing pharmaceutical care, evaluating literature, and developing therapy regimens with the clinical team leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy required, or an FPGEC certificate from NABP.
• Licensed in the state(s) of practice or eligible for reciprocity required.
• Immunization and non-vaccine injectable certification required based on area of practice.

Responsibilities

• Oversees pharmaceutical care, including retrieving and evaluating biomedical literature and designing medication therapy regimens.
• Provides patient and caregiver counseling on medication therapy, adverse effects, compliance, and administration.
• Designs, monitors, and evaluates patient-specific pharmacotherapeutic regimens and implements recommendations.
• Reviews and interprets medication orders and prescriptions accurately.
• Participates in management of medical emergencies when applicable.
• Supports medication safety and quality improvement activities.
