Job summary

CaroMont Health is seeking a Pharmacist to manage the pharmaceutical needs of the organization, with a focus on emergency department patients. You will provide medication information to physicians, staff, and the community, and serve as a liaison to assigned patient care areas to influence outcomes and quality measures.

You will mentor and educate pharmacy staff, residents, and students, and coordinate delivery of pharmaceutical care within the assigned specialty by leading order sets,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy; NC license required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
• Completion of accredited PGY1 residency or 5 years of equivalent clinical experience; emergency medicine residency preferred.
• Board certification required within 12 months of hire or eligibility; CPP required after credentialing.
• ASHP preceptor criteria; good teaching and communication skills; knowledge of quality measures.

Job Summary: Performs a wide variety of duties to help meet the pharmaceutical needs of the organization and its patients, focusing on management of emergency department patients. Provides medication-related information to physicians, staff, and the community. Serves as a liaison to assigned patient care areas with responsibility for outcomes, including patient satisfaction and quality measures. Mentors and educates pharmacy staff, residents, and students in area(s) of specialty. Coordinates delivery of pharmaceutical care within the assigned specialty by serving as the subject-matter expert for order sets, patient care protocols, policy development / revision, and multidisciplinary rounds.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from a recognized college or university; current NC pharmacy license required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
• Completion of accredited PGY1 residency program or 5 years of equivalent clinical experience required; emergency medicine specialty residency preferred.
• Board certification required within 12 months of hire or first date of eligibility, whichever occurs later. Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP) required after at least 6 months in the position with successful credentialing through the medical staff / NCBOP.
• Must meet ASHP preceptor criteria. Excellent communication and teaching skills. Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology, procedures, and policies. Knowledge of quality measures.
• Considerable skill in performing pharmacy procedures; Considerable ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members; BLS, ACLS, and PALS is required within 120 days of start, or first available course offered by CaroMont, whichever occurs later..
• Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals.
