The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) at WVU Medicine provides coordination and clinical care for critically ill patients, leading teams and ensuring protocol adherence. The APP coordinates the involvement of medical/surgical specialty teams to develop a comprehensive plan and reviews it with the clinical team.

This position also responds to rapid response alerts, participates in directing care, and supports discharge planning to the next level of care.

Competenze

Graduate from a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). AND Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License issued by West Virginia Board of Nursing.
American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.

Coordinate and manage comprehensive care for critical care patients.

Direct care to ensure adherence to protocol requirements and regulatory guidelines.
Perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures and peri-procedural services.

Participate in education of residents and medical/nursing students.
