Job summary

National Police seeks a dispatcher to operate and coordinate radio communications for police, fire, and animal services. You will manage 9-1-1 CAD and criminal justice systems, maintain manuals and maps, and support high-stress scenes.

You will interact with multiple agencies and the public while working a shift schedule. The role requires a high school diploma, typing precision, NIMS training within six months, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typing at least 35 words per minute.
• Completion of training program, including the completion of required NIMS level training within first six months of hire.
• Work is performed inside, sitting at radio console in a confined area with several employees at a time.
• Must be available for shift work and weekends.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Typing Test and Critical Test
• Drug testing and Hearing Test
• Comprehensive Background Check

Responsibilities

• Operates and coordinates combined radio communications for police, fire, and animal services.
• Operates 9-1-1 computer-aided dispatch, NCIC/MULES/REJIS systems.
• Maintains procedures manuals, directories and maps and performs related duties.
• Must be able to multi-task and react to high stress situations.
• Interacts with Police, Fire, Animal Services staff, Codes, other City departments, Ambulance Personnel, and citizens.
