National Youth Advocate Program in Chicago, IL is hiring a Crisis Support Specialist to respond to after-hours calls, provide crisis intervention for youth and ERH foster parents, and help de-escalate crises. You will document interventions and support families in need.

The position offers a $54,361 annual salary plus on-call pay, comprehensive benefits, training, and a flexible schedule. A bachelor's in human services and youth services experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or behavioral sciences.
• 1 year of youth services experience, preferably in child welfare or foster care.
• Ability to stay alert after hours; excellent listening and speaking skills.
• Proficient with computers and MS Office tools.

Crisis Support SpecialistLocation: Chicago, ILPosition SummaryThe Crisis Support Specialist works to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth and families served by the National Youth Advocate Program. This position is responsible for taking after-hour calls from ERH foster parents to provide support, answer questions, address comments and/or concerns and respond with appropriate actions.Salary: $54,361 annually. Document all interventions and behavioral health services provided.Provide crisis intervention and emotional support.Identify and assist foster parents in implementing behavior stabilization techniques.Provide transportation for clients when needed.Gather information for incident reports from foster parents, write incident reports, and make appropriate notifications to custodial agencies.Log data regarding all after-hours conversations with ERH foster homes.Performs other duties as requested.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited school in human services, social work, or behavioral/social sciences.1 year of experience in youth services, preferably with direct experience in child welfare, or foster care; preferred.Must have the ability to be and stay alert after hours; have excellent listening and speaking skills.Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.Driving and Vehicle RequirementsValid driver’s licenseReliable personal transportationGood driving recordMinimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,00/$300,000 bodily injury liabilityIf this describes YOU, please apply today!www.nyap.org/employmentWho We AreNational Youth Advocate Program has been serving communities and clients since 1978 and we continue to grow each year.
