The McCall Behavioral Health Network is seeking a Part Time Peer Recovery Support Specialist for the REST Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) in Western Connecticut. This role uses lived recovery experience to inspire hope, provide non-judgmental support, and help clients identify strengths, goals, and community resources during acute crises.

The CRSSP credential is required, and candidates should be able to work within a multidisciplinary team, document services in the electronic health record, and

Qualifications

• CRSSP credential required in CT.
• Personal lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery.
• Maintain professional boundaries while drawing on personal experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build trust across diverse populations.
• Commitment to trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered values.
• Able to work in a fast-paced crisis environment with a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in a crisis stabilization unit or acute behavioral health setting.
• Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing or similar frameworks.
• Experience with electronic health record documentation.
• Bilingual or multicultural competency relevant to populations served.

Responsabilités

• Establish authentic peer connections to inspire hope and reduce stigma.
• Provide non-judgmental, compassionate support during acute crisis.
• Help clients identify strengths, recovery goals, and supports.
• Facilitate peer support groups and skill-building for recovery.
• Assist in developing personal recovery plans and tools.
• Connect clients to community resources and benefits navigation.
• Partner with clinicians in discharge planning for continuity of care.
• Provide warm handoffs to community-based peer services.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment meetings and shift handoffs.
