Job summary

Monadnock Family Services is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join the Mobile Crisis Team in Keene, NH. The role requires providing peer counseling, crisis stabilization, and collaborative support to clients and families, under clinical supervision.

You will work to maximize client choice, self-determination and reintegration into the community, using recovery-focused, strengths-based approaches and non-directive support.

Qualifications

• Must have a strong commitment that all with severe and persistent mental illness have the right and ability to live in normal community residences.
• 2 years’ experience in community based psychosocial rehabilitation treatment or Case Management Services.
• Direct personal life experiences and/or experience with close family members may substitute for some or all of the experience requirement.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but NOT required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer counseling and consultation to clients and families and to team staff.
• Assist in crisis stabilization and recovery processes.
• Act as liaison with community resources and provide rehabilitation and support functions.
• Contribute to treatment, education, support, and crisis intervention under clinical supervision.
