Job summary

Monadnock Family Services is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join the Mobile Crisis Team. You will provide recovery‑focused peer counseling, crisis stabilization, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support individuals in distress.

The role requires a commitment to helping people with severe mental illness live in the community, plus the ability to travel in the service area. Two years of community-based psychosocial rehabilitation or case management experience is preferred;

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate a strong commitment to helping individuals with severe mental illness live in community residences and access supports.
• Two years of experience in community-based psychosocial rehabilitation or case management.
• Direct personal life experiences or family experience may substitute for some experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer counseling and crisis stabilization to clients and families.
• Consult with clients and families; act as liaison to community resources.
• Collaborate with the Mobile Crisis Team and other staff to address mental health needs.
• Support rehabilitation and planning of treatment and services.
