Job summary

Santé is seeking a Full-Time Phone Counselor to work on-site with our crisis intervention team in Westminster, MD. You will be the first point of contact for individuals in crisis, assessing needs, providing goal-directed counseling and crisis planning.

This in-person role requires a Bachelor’s in Human Services or five years of crisis hotline experience, valid driver’s license, and a commitment to compassionate community-based care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or five years of crisis hotline experience.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming crisis calls and obtain client information.
• Conduct assessments and dispatch appropriate resources when needed.
• Deescalate clients in crisis over the phone.
• Develop appropriate and realistic crisis plan and complete appropriate follow tasks.
• Effectively communicate client’s needs while making internal agency referrals.
• Knowledge and familiarity with community resources, both mental health and non-mental health.
• Complete documentation in an accurate and thorough manner.
