Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a licensed Case Therapist I to assess patients in acute mental health crises and substance concerns in emergency and hospital units. You’ll provide treatment planning, direct services, and possible individual/family counseling, coordinating care with the team and family while documenting in the medical record.

You will cover varied shifts within the crisis consult services, with on-call expectations as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or related field.
• Experience with substance abuse and mental health populations.
• Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), LCPC, LCSW within twelve months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers.
• Demonstrates teamwork by helping co-workers within and across departments.
• Manages work schedule efficiently, completing tasks and assignments on time.
• Documents in patient medical record via Epic or other electronic medical records software.
• Understands DSM diagnosis and develops therapeutic interventions with treatment team.
