Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Springfield, MO is seeking a Crisis Specialist I or II to support individuals in crisis. You will provide crisis intervention by phone, in person, and on mobile units, and you will document interactions while guiding clients to appropriate resources.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Human Services, CPR/First Aid and CPI certification, with preference for LMSW/LCSW/PLPC/LPC. Join a team focused on compassionate care and community impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in the Human Services field.
• Preferred: LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, LPC.
• CPR/First Aid and CPI certified.

Responsibilities

• Provide phone, face-to-face, and mobile crisis intervention as clinically appropriate and document all contacts on appropriate forms.
• Deliver individual, group, family, and practical counseling to meet client needs and treatment goals.
• Assess and facilitate admission to the Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit and evaluate clients for discharge based on safety.
• Consult with law enforcement and hospital emergency rooms regarding alternatives for client disposition.
• Participate in staff development activities and contribute to team growth.
• Provide rapid aid in emotional crisis situations through crisis intervention services.
• Attend scheduled conference calls, webinars, meetings, and supervision sessions.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Crisis Services or designee.
