Job summary

BBH Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a Crisis Specialist I or II to join a compassionate team that supports individuals in crisis. You will provide crisis intervention, counseling, and support to help consumers navigate behavioral health needs while building trusting relationships.

The role emphasizes adaptability, proactive communication, and collaboration with clients, law enforcement, and clinical staff to determine safe dispositions and connect people with needed services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the Human Services field.
  • Preferred licensure/certifications: LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, or LPC.
  • CPR/First Aid and CPI certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention by phone, in person, and mobile as clinically appropriate and document every contact.
  • Deliver individual, group, family, and practical counseling to meet client needs and treatment goals.
  • Assess and facilitate admission to the Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit and evaluate discharge for safety.
  • Consult with law enforcement and hospital ER regarding client disposition.
  • Participate in staff development and contribute to team growth.
  • Provide rapid aid in emotional crisis situations through crisis intervention services.
  • Attend scheduled conference calls, webinars, meetings, and supervision sessions.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by leadership.

Job Summary

Join our compassionate and dedicated team as a Crisis Specialist I or II, where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in crisis. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide phone, face‑to‑face, and mobile crisis intervention as clinically appropriate and document all contacts on appropriate forms.
  • Deliver individual, group, family, and practical counseling to meet client needs and treatment goals.
  • Assess and facilitate admission to the Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit and evaluate clients for discharge based on safety.
  • Consult with law enforcement and hospital emergency rooms regarding alternatives for client disposition.
  • Participate in staff development activities and contribute to team growth.
  • Provide rapid aid in emotional crisis situations through crisis intervention services.
  • Attend scheduled conference calls, webinars, meetings, and supervision sessions.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Crisis Services or designee.
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the Human Services field.
  • Preferred: LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, LPC.
  • CPR/First Aid and CPI certified.
Additional Qualifications
  • Successful completion of background checks including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
Physical Requirements
  • ADA Consideration – Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
