Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health seeks a Mobile Crisis Specialist in Springfield, MO to deliver rapid, person-centered crisis interventions in the community or via telehealth. You will assess risk, de-escalate crises, and coordinate care with partners to connect individuals to appropriate services.

Ideal candidates possess a counseling-related degree or equivalent clinical experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling and related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years supervised clinical experience in mental health or human services if no degree.

Responsibilities

• Respond to on-call/mobile crisis requests and provide immediate, person-centered crisis intervention.
• Perform face-to-face crisis assessments, evaluate risk, and develop safety plans.
• Coordinate access to crisis services, including hospitalizations or referrals.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, EMS, and internal/external partners for safe outcomes.
• Maintain timely documentation in electronic medical records to meet reporting needs.
• Communicate with Crisis Team members for backup and resource coordination.
• Attend trainings, supervision, and meetings to maintain competencies.
