Job summary

Mental Health America of Greenville County is hiring Crisis Intervention Specialists to support the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline via phone, chat and text. This full-time, onsite role includes evening/night hours with at least one weekend shift weekly and training provided.

Ideal candidates bring strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills to assist individuals in crisis while maintaining confidentiality and collaborating with a team of professionals to ensure safety and well-being.

• Excellent communication skills to interact with individuals in crisis.
• Professional phone skills and clear speaking voice.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to assess situations and provide interventions.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Empathy and compassion towards individuals experiencing crisis.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Handle the 24/7 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline via phone, chat and text, offering support, information and referral, and crisis intervention.
• Provide crisis intervention and information to individuals in crisis.
• Work onsite for evening/night shifts with at least one weekend shift per week.
• Participate in training and ongoing professional development.
