Job summary

Gryphon Place is seeking part-time Crisis Specialists to join a compassionate team serving Michigan residents through the MiCAL 988 Lifeline. Roles involve crisis intervention via phone, chat, and text in a 24/7 contact center, with duties including risk assessment, safety planning, and resource connection.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required and crisis intervention training provided.
• Must be available for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overnights in a 24/7 environment.
• Certified Crisis Specialist (or ability to be certified within 1 year of hire) and Michigan residency required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming contacts (calls, chats, texts) from individuals in crisis or seeking support.
• Conduct suicide risk assessments and safety planning using clinical protocols.
• Provide emotional support, de-escalation, and stabilization with trauma-informed techniques.
• Identify and respond to high-risk situations following escalation procedures.
• Connect individuals to local services and crisis resources and document follow-up when required.
• Accurately document interactions in crisis management systems and maintain thorough records.
