Job summary

Northwest Human Services seeks compassionate Crisis Intervention Specialists to provide immediate emotional support by phone, perform risk assesssments, and link clients to mental health resources in a 24/7 hotline setting.

This onsite, on-call role requires a Bachelor's in social work or related field (or 3 years of relevant work) and QMHA-R certification eligibility to join a dedicated team serving Marion and Polk counties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or behavioral health sciences field, or combination of at least three years relevant work, education, training, or experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an integrated team.
• Demonstrated ability to use appropriate problem-solving and decision-making skills while working with individuals who may be very escalated or experiencing acute crisis.
• Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care models.
• Demonstrated ability to practice self-reflection.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate emotional support to people experiencing distress, suicidal thoughts, or seeking mental health resources.
• Conduct risk assessments and create safety plans.
• Offer brief counseling over the phone and connect clients to appropriate services.
• Support all 988 calls in Marion and Polk counties and assist as after-hours crisis support for community partners.
