Job summary

Northwest Human Services is a nonprofit provider delivering crisis intervention and information services from its Salem location. The Crisis Intervention Specialist role supports the 24/7 Hotline program with immediate emotional support, risk assessments, and safety planning for callers in urgent need.

Responsibilities include brief counseling, connecting clients to services, and after-hours crisis support for community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or behavioral health sciences, or combination of at least three years relevant work
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an integrated team
• Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care models
• Ability to practice self-reflection and stay calm in crises

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate emotional support to individuals in distress or crisis
• Conduct risk assessments and create safety plans
• Offer brief counseling over the phone and connect clients to appropriate services
• Support 988 calls in Marion and Polk counties and assist after-hours partners
