Job summary

Milford Trauma Intervention Services is seeking a Trauma Intervention Counselor to provide crisis intervention, advocacy and counseling to survivors of domestic violence, rape, and related trauma. The role includes emergency hotline response and rotating coverage for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities include conducting safety assessments, developing safety plans, and maintaining documentation; you will liaise with local providers and report quarterly/annual statistics for funders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling or equivalent required.
• Two years’ experience with individuals, groups, and families.
• Experience with victims or the criminal justice system desirable.
• Bilingual Spanish/Portuguese preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention, advocacy and counseling to survivors and others affected by violence.
• Emergency response to hotline callers; provide medical and legal advocacy; rotate nights/weekends/holidays.
• Conduct assessments; develop safety plans; complete required documentation.
• Liaise with other area providers.
• Maintain funder statistics quarterly and annually.
