Job summary

Community Counseling of Bristol County in Taunton, MA seeks a Jail Diversion Clinician to join the Mobile Crisis Intervention Co-Response Program. You will provide brief, solution-focused counseling during crises and coordinate with police and EMS to reduce unnecessary involvement with the criminal justice system.

Responsibilities include emergency evaluations, safety planning, care coordination, and documentation, with licensure-eligible or licensed clinicians and supervision toward licensure.

Qualifications

• License-eligible Master's degree or independently licensed as LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
• Licensure supervision is available.
• Good organizational skills, as well as verbal, written and computer skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, audio-visual tools (Doxy/Zoom), and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency diagnostic evaluations and phone triage to assess lethality and determine treatment plans.
• Deliver real-time crisis response and follow-up care for 911 and police calls in partnership with law enforcement.
• Develop safety plans and crisis management strategies to stabilize clients and families in the community.
• Assist law enforcement with emergency psychiatric and substance use holds (Sections 12, 35, and 18).
• Connect families to services across the continuum of care and coordinate with hospitals, courts and insurers.
• Maintain records and complete mandated reports and supervision attendances.
