Job summary

Baystate Health in Springfield, MA is seeking a Case Worker to join the Family Advocacy Center. The role involves meeting with families to provide crisis intervention, assessment, and services before, during, and after a multidisciplinary forensic child abuse interview, and coordinating care plans.

You will triage needs and develop a plan of care with the Victim Services Supervisor, and assist in guiding referring agencies, families, and medical providers on abuse concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or Psychology required.
• One or more years in providing services to children and non-offending caretakers who have experienced child abuse or maltreatment.

Responsibilities

• Meets with families to provide crisis intervention, assessment, and services before, during, and following a multidisciplinary forensic child abuse interview.
• Assesses the need for ongoing treatment and social services for the child, parent, or caretaker.
• Identifies and triages the needs of each case and develops a plan of care with the Victim Services Supervisor.
• Assists in providing immediate consultation and guidance to referring agencies, families and medical providers.
• Collaborates with the District Attorney’s office, law enforcement, and DCF to maximize coordinated services and intervention.
• Provides case management to families impacted by abuse and follows progress for six months or more.
