Reid Health in Richmond, IN seeks a Behavioral Health Support Specialist to join the Emergency Department care team. You will perform behavioral health assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and linkage to community resources for patients with mental health or substance use concerns.

The role supports the ED Diversion Program, helps with de-escalation, suicide prevention, and post-discharge follow-up, and participates in the hospital's Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a social service field (e.g., MSW).
• Active licensure: LSW, LMFTA, or LMHCA.
• Experience in emergency department or crisis services preferred.

Responsabilités

• Conduct behavioral health screenings and crisis evaluations in the ED.
• Identify patients suitable for diversion from inpatient hospitalization and coordinate alternatives.
• Provide brief solution-focused interventions and supportive counseling.
• Assist ED providers with disposition planning and level of care decisions.
• Facilitate rapid connection to community-based behavioral health services and crisis resources.
• Collaborate with community organizations to improve transitions of care.
