Job summary

Upward Bound House is seeking a Case Manager in Culver City to support families in crisis at the shelter, providing trauma-informed, individualized services and connecting clients to housing resources.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external providers to ensure plans are implemented, progress is documented, and safety policies are followed, while maintaining compliance with funding requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years’ experience in homeless services.
• Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care, Housing First, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction.
• Strong crisis intervention, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in HMIS and Microsoft Office; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload, conduct assessments, and create individualized service plans.
• Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and emergency response.
• Document client progress and ensure compliance with agency and funder requirements.
• Connect clients to internal and external services and monitor progress toward goals.
• Assist clients in securing permanent housing within targeted timelines.
• Guide clients through applications, landlord communication, and move-in preparation.
• Build relationships with property managers and maintain a housing resource inventory.
• Collaborate with staff to align services and participate in coordination meetings.
• Ensure shelter rules, safety standards, and incident response procedures are followed.
• Develop and maintain referral networks with local providers and represent UBH at community meetings.
• Maintain accurate case files, service plans, and reports; support evaluation and compliance.
