Job summary

Arapahoe County Government is hiring a Hotline Caseworker for a hybrid schedule at our Human Services department in Aurora, CO. The role handles intake referrals for child/adult protection, crisis situations, and youth services, gathering information to support initial case dispositions.

Responsibilities include crisis call handling, record checks across Trails/CBMS, and coordinating with the RED Team to determine safety plans and service referrals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a human behavior science or equivalent.
• Understanding of child/adult abuse dynamics and aging/development.
• Ability to gather information accurately from reporters in crisis situations.
• Familiarity with state and county systems (Trails, CBMS, courts).

Responsibilities

• Receive crisis referrals and assess problem severity.
• Gather complete information to determine safety and services needed.
• Provide information and referrals via phone and email; process reports.
• Follow up as requested by the RED Team and assist disposition decisions.
• Participate in RED Teams regularly.
