Job summary

Frontier Behavioral Health in Spokane, WA seeks a Crisis Clinician to provide rapid crisis assessment, triage and intervention to individuals and families, aiming to divert from emergency departments and inpatient care.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, engage community resources, complete risk assessments, and contribute to stabilization plans, with travel between sites and community settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or related field.
• Must apply for Counselor Agency Affiliated – Registered credential from WA DOH within 30 days of hire.
• Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license, pass vehicle screening and drive test, have active insurance, and be willing to use a personal vehicle for work.
• Preferred: Two years of experience serving children, youth and families with behavioral health needs.
• Knowledge, skills & abilities include engagement, empathy, calm under pressure, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial and follow-up phone triage, assessment, and de-escalation services.
• Provide crisis and hospital diversion services to youth, adults, and families.
• Provide referral services and linkage to resources; assist Medicaid enrollment as appropriate.
• Complete risk assessments for suicide/homicide and coordinate with a supervisor.
• Collaborate with Mobile Dispatch Unit to meet contract requirements.
• Develop stabilization and safety plans with clients and their support networks.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and client records.
• Follow up on referrals to ensure stabilization and services.
• Maintain knowledge of community resources and access needed supports.
• Travel to see clients in the community and between sites.
