Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking an Emergency Crisis Intervention Specialist to provide immediate assessment and stabilization in the emergency department. You will conduct initial and follow-up clinical evaluations, formulate dispositions, and ensure accurate documentation in line with department policies and state requirements.

Working with nursing, psychiatry, social work, and peers, you will manage transfers, coordinate after-care, assist with insurance pre-certifications, and deliver family

Qualifications

• Initial crisis evaluations and risk assessments completed per policy.
• Accurate documentation meeting department standards.
• Manage involuntary/voluntary admissions documentation.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary care team for treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and complete initial crisis assessments and risk assessments.
• Formulate clinical dispositions and after-care planning.
• De-escalate patients and manage transfers to care units.
• Complete insurance authorizations and pre-certifications.
• Provide family intervention and psychoeducation.
• Collaborate with nursing, psychiatry, social work and peers.
