Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a licensed mental health professional to provide emergency crisis intervention within our Newark area hospital network. The role includes conducting crisis assessments, de-escalation, and coordinating patient care with an interdisciplinary team.

Required: Master's in social work or counseling, NJ LSW/LAC, and current or eligible Psychiatric Screener Certification. Shift is 12PM-8PM for three days weekly, including one weekend.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling or related field required.
• Current NJ Psychiatric/Mental Health Screener Certification or immediate eligibility.
• State of NJ LSW/LAC required.

Responsibilities

• Provide Emergency Crisis Intervention Services in ED and hospital settings.
• Complete de-escalation interventions and ongoing assessments.
• Coordinate transfers to involuntary, voluntary, or CCIS units for care.
• Complete initial crisis evaluations, safety plans, and regulatory-compliant documentation.
• Complete insurance authorizations and pre-certification as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including nursing, psychiatry, social work, and peer specialists.
• Participate in quality initiatives and aftercare planning.
