Job summary

Atlantic Health in Summit, NJ, is seeking a qualified professional to provide emergency crisis intervention within the behavioral health department. The role includes direct crisis assessments, risk evaluations, and coordination of care across an interdisciplinary team to ensure timely and appropriate dispositions and aftercare planning.

The candidate will work with nursing, psychiatry, social work, and other staff to support patients through stabilization, disposition, and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling or related field.
• State of NJ LSW or LAC license required.
• One year of crisis or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Emergency Crisis Intervention Services including initial and follow-up assessments.
• Conduct and complete clinical and risk assessments for behavioral health patients.
• Formulate provisional dispositions and clinical summaries referencing clinical features.
• Complete de-escalation interventions with patients and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Document assessments, safety plans and clinical reevaluations per department policies.
• Coordinate transfers to involuntary, voluntary and CCIS units for ongoing care.
• Assist with discharge planning and aftercare coordination.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team including nursing and psychiatric providers.
