Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC) invites applications for a full-time, academic-year Criminal Justice instructor. The position involves teaching 30 hours annually across transfer and non-transfer CJ courses using traditional, online, hybrid, and Zoom formats.

The role engages with local law enforcement to boost enrollment, manages the program advisory committee, and supports curriculum development and credentialing. Evening/weekend teaching and off-campus assignments may occur.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate well in oral and written English.
• Actively communicate with colleagues and students using email, voice mail, text and other electronic means.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to teach and evaluate student performance.
• Ability to maintain required records.
• Ability to work with staff and colleagues in department and college committees and related activities.

Responsabilités

• Teach 30 hours per year of criminal justice courses in transfer and non-transfer formats.
• Work with law enforcement professionals to enhance enrollment.
• Manage and maintain the advisory committee for the program.
• Initial assignment may be at one or more DSCC teaching locations as needed.
• Develop web-enhanced courses for technology-enabled classrooms, online, Zoom, and remote locations.
• Advise students, maintain office hours, participate in college life and committees.
