Job summary

City of Foley is seeking a Crime Analyst to collect, organize, and analyze information from Police Department systems and external sources to produce analytic products, reports, and dashboards supporting public safety.

Under supervision, you will use SQL, ArcGIS, Excel, and OSINT techniques to identify crime trends, create maps, and assist investigators. A two-year related experience and an associate degree are required; vocational certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree and 2 years’ related experience, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of data analysis and reporting.
• Preferred certifications (IACA/NW3C or similar).

Responsibilities

• Extracts data from the records management system via SQL queries and analyzes trends.
• Designs and maintains interactive data-driven apps and dashboards for department use.
• Reviews police reports and calls for service to identify patterns and disseminate information.
• Performs inquiries using restricted access platforms in support of investigations.
• Uses open-source intelligence to identify victims, suspects, and relevant information.
• Prepares crime trend reports and studies and offender bulletins.
• Works with ArcGIS Pro/ArcGIS Online to analyze call data and create maps.
• Analyzes audio and video data to support investigations.
• Prepares graphics and presentations for meetings and court proceedings.
• Liaises with other law enforcement and academic partners to share information.
