Military, Veterans and Diverse Job Seekers seeks a Crime and Intelligence Analyst to examine criminal justice information, analyze data, and prepare intelligence products for police operations in Hayward, CA. The role supports staff utilization, program planning, and training in crime analysis and apprehension.

The analyst will maintain large databases, develop reports, monitor crime trends, and provide liaison with state and federal partners to enhance community safety.

Formación

• Knowledge of the informational needs and objectives of police officers and users of statistical crime data.
• Knowledge of police department structure, law enforcement, and criminal justice system.
• Familiarity with automated law enforcement systems and software used to compile and analyze data and prepare reports.
• Database administration and design.
• Basic research, analysis, and statistical methods.
• Report writing skills.
• Basic English grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, and sentence construction.

Responsabilidades

• Select input data and appropriate software for retrieval, develop and maintain large databases, and audit files.
• Create macros and editing programs for searching, retrieving, and formatting data.
• Maintain information on sex offenders, narcotic and arson offenders, parolees and probationers.
• Liaise with parole, probation, DOJ, and other police agencies at local, state, and federal levels.
• Research and compile data from offense reports, arrest reports, and intelligence information.
• Assist in collecting and preparing UCR data for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Research and report statistical crime data using software to produce reports.
• Monitor crimes, identify trends, and flag hot spots.
• Assist with design and revision of forms, maps, charts, graphs, scatter grams, and matrices.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly crime bulletins for operational units.
• Meet with community groups to improve relations and crime prevention awareness.
• Gather intelligence information for Patrol, Command, and Investigations Units.
• Support programs such as crime prevention, truancy abatement, and grants.
• Coordinate intelligence information with various agencies.
• Respond to requests for analysis of general crime activity for administrative and operational use.
• Assist in planning, preparing, and teaching informational courses to officers and staff.
